Everyone initially gets 10 hearts, which is the default amount you usually have in Minecraft. When you kill a player, you gain 1 heart, and when you die to another player, you lose 1 heart. The maximum hearts you are able to gain is 20. Or 25 with prestige.

• The more hearts you have, the longer you are able to survive in fights.
• If you lose all of your hearts, you will be death banned. (higher ranks have shorter death bans)

Prestiging allows you to reset your current amount of hearts to the starting amount 10, and in exchange, you will be allowed to have an extra heart over the heart cap. You can prestige 5 times before you have gone through all prestige levels. You will now be allowed a maximum of 25 hearts instead of the default amount 20.
